Teacher and young generation

Hafsah binti Siriin said that “Oh the youth! Use your potential as long as you are still young, because I never see the worthiest work, but what the youth generations do.” Here, the youth generation is source of some potential that must be improved and developed. Improving their potential needs process and some subjects who will guide them to what they want to be. The subjects can be parents, friends, and can be teacher at school. As parent, a teacher has participation that can mold what young generation to be. It is sometimes being a reason of people why they want to be a teacher.

A teacher can mold the young generation because teacher guide them to look for as much as knowledge from any sources especially at school. Giving some experiences and knowledge is something useful for the young generation. Teaching the students means a teacher is transferring the knowledge that can open their mind to see the world and know the way what they want to be. According to M.Anis Matta as one of political figures, “the smart people are they who have innovation, be able to manage information. The innovation ability or creativeness is unification among brain, mind, and imagination.”  (121)  In other hand, being the successful young generation with having more knowledge. In Al-Qur’an: “Surely Allah will raise the faithful people and who gives knowledge several degree.” (Al-Baqarah: 121)

  Besides guiding the students to get more knowledge, a teacher also can guide them to have good character or bad character. It depends on the teacher, because a teacher is model for the students. When the teacher showed the bad character in front of the students, it means she/he guiding them being bad character, but when the teacher showed the good character and good attitude, it means she/he is investing the goodness and the kindness to the students. If the students are permitted to do kindness, certainly they will grow to be kind. The other way, if they used to do the badness, they will be unlucky people.  

Every students has each potential, if the students can discover their potential, they will know the way to achieve their dream and make to come true what they want to be. Teacher at school must know and support them in every good activity at school. Finding their potential by looking at their ability, not only on one side but also on the other sides. It might be about their skill, or their intelligence. The teacher must think something great will be happened to the young generation for every achievement that they get. Because, people will not get great achievement if the achievement never be thought before.

What tell above can answer why teacher has participation to mold what young generation to be. Being some reason of people, who want to be a teacher; can guide them getting more knowledge as a source to be great generation, can mold them to have good character as human kind, and can guide them to get enormous potential to be successful people.
